Trail · Romans 8:28

TR828

Every step worked for good.

Walk the trail of your own life. Every marker, every season, every hard mile, laid out as a path you can walk, and the fellow travelers who have stood on the same ground.

The walk

Your life, as a trail you can walk.

Put down the moments that made you: the births, the losses, the choices, the aha moments, the miracles. TR828 lays them along a mountain trail in order, then lets you walk it. Arrive at a marker and its card rises. The weather changes with the season of life you are passing through.

Arrive at a marker

Date, age, what happened, what you felt. A pause, a soft chime, then keep walking.

A heavy season: rain, bare trees and a dark sky between two hard markers

The hard seasons stay

Rain, bare trees, a darker sky. The hard miles are on the trail because they are part of the story.

Tap the eye and see the road ahead the way you would from your own two feet. The summit is always at the end.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28

TR828 is short for Trail, Romans 8:28. The verse is the whole idea. Not that every step was good, but that every step, walked out to the end, was worked for good. The app does not sort your life into the parts worth keeping. It keeps the trail.

Seasons & markers

Twenty glyphs, fifteen feelings, six kinds of weather.

Each marker has a date, a title, a note, a category and a glyph on its signpost. Add what you felt. Then declare the seasons of your life, and the whole world along the trail changes to match.

  • Categories: Milestone Moment, Life Transition, Person, Aha Moment, Hardship, Trauma, Choice, Miracle, and more.
  • Three more ways to see it: the Story (every marker in order, decade by decade), the Map (the whole winding route on one page), and the ribbon under your feet.
  • Sounds of the trail: wind that gusts with the cloud, rain in the heavy seasons, distant thunder in a storm, birds in the calm, your own footsteps. No music, nothing recorded. Respects the silent switch.

TR210 · Trail · Ephesians 2:10

TR210. Fellow Travelers.

“Created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Where your trail crosses others. A cairn is a pile of stones that walkers add to so the next person knows someone was here. Lost a parent. Went to that school. Moved to that town. Played that sport. Mark the ground you share, and the people who stand at the same cairn can find each other.

  • Add your stone. Share one marker into a cairn. You choose whether your name goes with it, whether the note goes, whether letters can reach you. Hardship and trauma are anonymous by default.
  • Walk a circle. See the shared trail laid out by age, and walk it like your own.
  • Leave a stone, send a letter. Two gestures only. A stone beside someone's signpost says I was here too. A letter goes one to one, into their chest.
  • A circle forms at three. There is nothing to join and no one to ask. Adding your stone is joining.

Report anything that is wrong and it is hidden for you at once; the TR828 team answers within a day. Blocking someone removes them from your circles and stops letters both ways.

The chest of treasures

Photos, letters and papers, tied to the moments they belong to.

Keep what matters

A photo from the day. The letter your mother wrote. The diploma, the deed, the program from the service. Each one can sit at the signpost it belongs to, and a small chest appears at the foot of the post.

Write letters

Letters to the people on your trail, written now, kept with their marker. Letters from fellow travelers arrive here too, never in a feed.

On your device

Treasures live in the app on your phone and in your own private iCloud. They do not travel with a share and they are never part of a circle.

Privacy

Your story is yours. Only what you choose is shown.

Device first

The trail is built and stored on your iPhone or iPad. If you are signed in to iCloud it mirrors to your own private iCloud database, which Apple encrypts and which TR828 cannot read.

An account is optional

You only need one for TR210, the Fellow Travelers part of the app. Sign in with Apple or a six-digit email code. Deleting your account removes everything on the server. The copy on your device stays yours.

Shares are snapshots

When you add a stone, exactly the fields you ticked are copied to the cairn and nothing else. Anonymous means anonymous: the server enforces it, not just the app. No one ever sees your email or your trail.

No advertising. No tracking. No selling of data. A plain-language privacy policy will be published with the app.

Questions

Asked often.

What does TR828 mean?

Trail, Romans 8:28. The verse says that all things work together for good for those who love God. The app is a trail of all things, the bright seasons and the storms, walked to the end.

And TR210?

Trail, Ephesians 2:10: we are created for good works, that we should walk in them. TR210 is the name of the Fellow Travelers part of the app, the cairns and circles where your trail crosses other people's. TR828 is the trail you walk alone; TR210 is the ground you share.

Is it only for people of faith?

The name comes from the Bible and the app grew out of a Christian discipleship course. The trail itself is for anyone with a life to walk. There is no doctrine in the app, no devotional content, and the faith category is one of many.

Do I need an account?

Not to build and walk your trail, read your story, see the map, or fill the chest. An account is only needed for TR210 Fellow Travelers, so that your stones can stand at real cairns among real people.

Where does my data live?

On your device, in your own private iCloud if you are signed in, and in any file you choose to export. If you make an account, the trail is backed up to it and the shares you choose are published to cairns. Nothing else leaves the phone.

I did the Acts 3 Discovery course. Can I bring my Journey Map?

Yes. Export the Trail of Life file from the Journey Map and import it in TR828 Settings. Markers, categories, glyphs, feelings and seasons all come across. TR828 is made by a separate company and the two do not share accounts or data; the file is the bridge.

Who sees what I share?

Only the people who stand at the same cairn, and only the fields you ticked. Your name, note and feelings each have their own switch. For hardship and trauma the switches start off. Your email and user id are never shown to anyone.

Is there an Android version?

It is planned. TR828 launches on iPhone and iPad first, and an Android version follows once the App Store release is settled. Your trail file and your account will work on both.
